The Institute is actively involved in collaborative programmes that are internationally and nationally recognized in order to remain at the forefront on the scientific and technological developments and to share its experience with them. At present, a number of collaborative research projects are in operation with the institutions in Austria, France, Israel, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, UK, and USA. Some of the facets of these collaborations include students and faculty exchange, joint research and fellowships for training at the doctoral and postdoctoral level.

In order to have close cooperation in the field of teaching and research, the Institute has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with foreign universities, research institutes and industrial organizations.
