Major functions of Accounts Section are as follows:

• Treasury functions
• Retirement benefits
• Salary,Provident Fund
• Daily wage muster roll payments
• Supplier and contractor payments
• Income tax /Sale tax/ Cess related
• Expenditure monitoring and Investments
• Interaction with Banks and other statutory bodies relating to accounts
• Scholarship and student payments
• Compilation and account preparation
• Providing support to JEE/GATE and JAM units for Accounts activities

Major functions of Audit Section are as follows:

• Internal auditing
• Liaison with external audit and internal units of IIT Delhi
• Auditing all high value transaction before passing of bill
• Supplier payment commitments
• Pay fixation and Pension fixation vetting
• Answering the paras raised by external audit
