Debasis Mondal : Humanities


Debasis Mondal is an assistant professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IITD. He joined the department in December 2010 after having Ph.D. in economics from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata (2008) and serving the National University of Singapore, dept of economics, as a postdoctoral fellow during 2008-2010. Dr. Mondal’s work broadly focuses on the issues of international trade between developed and developing countries and its impact on product innovation and endogenous growth. More specifically, he is interested on the role of international protection of intellectual properties (IPRs) on innovation, trade and growth. He has published quite a few papers in internationally visible peer reviewed journals in his areas of interest. He also works in the broad areas of public economics. Dr. Mondal is the recipient of the Exim Bank’s prestigious International Economic Development Research Annual (IEDRA) Award in the year 2009 for his Ph.D. research work in the field of international trade, innovation and endogenous growth.
