Laboratory Generated Diabetic Muscle

Description: 

To develop diabetic skeletal muscle cells in the laboratory to screen anti-diabetic compounds.Insulin resistant diabetes was developed in the muscle cells under culture conditions as determined by inactivation of the key regulatory molecules of glucose uptake. The results presented depicts the molecular reasons of failure of Glut4 proteins, one of the key regulatory molecules, in taking up glucose.
