The 2017 edition of Rendezvous, IIT Delhi’s annual cultural fest, was successfully organized by the student community from 13 – 16 October, 2017. The decorations and events across the campus resonated the somewhat unconventional choice of theme for the fest ‘A Bohemian Getaway’, to celebrate the unique lifestyle and hip outlook of the people behind Bohemian movement.

The fest witnessed some extraordinary participation, with over 40,000 registrations from over 600 hundred colleges across India in more than 500 hundred cultural events, circumscribing Dance, Drama, Debating, Photography, Music and much more.

Some new interesting additions in this edition of RDV included Ambrosia, IIT Delhi’s first ever food fest with authentic cuisines from around the world supplied by the best restaurants and cafes in town with exciting offers, and Silent DJ nights, which added to the entertainment. Dreamville saw a complete overhaul and was a sight to behold, with some amazing food outlets thronging the thoroughfares with exciting food and offers, thrilling amusement rides and stunning décor to add to the Bohemian glamour and the brand new Piazza where people come together and celebrate, dancing into the night.

The Ground Zero, an explosive new arena caught much attention and pulled crowds towards the escape games, food stalls and gaming arcades and more. The coveted Pronites, which saw some new additions this year with a glimpses from the most celebrated stars from the popular TV show India’s Got Talent, as well as a comedy night with the supremely talented stand-up comedian, Zakir Khan, living up to its billing and in addition to this, the students also got to witness some incredible performances from a star - studded lineup, including but not limited to Kailash Kher, Salim Suleiman, Nina Suerte and Harrdy Sandhu driving up the celebrity quotient, complemented by breathtaking performances from the best college music bands and dance groups across the country.

The OrgComm did an almost immaculate job of organizing RDV’17, from pre-fest events and publicity to executing the events with an admirable degree of professionalism. Even before the fest, the Social outreach campaign attracted lots of attention and was successful in its sensitization mission about the woes of Thalassemia, the exciting Mini RDV, the Camerathon and the cross-city events created ripples across the youth nationwide. The footfall was record-breaking and people poured into this little campus from across the country to get a taste of the revelry. As was promised each one of the visitors found something to entice their palate and the colors, the lights, the cheer and the excitement was electrifying. It was a breathtaking experience!
